Timeframes

Daily-scale signals. The chart tells you where it wants to live.

Vektor reads trends measured in days and weeks, not minutes. Each market's build states the chart it expects — and warns you, on the chart itself, when it isn't getting it.

Daily-scale by design

Slow on purpose. A signal every week or two.

Why the daily scale? #

The trends worth holding on gold and Bitcoin play out over days to months. Reading them at the daily scale keeps the system out of intraday noise, keeps trade frequency low, and keeps every signal one you can act on without watching a screen. Expect roughly a signal every week or two per market — often less in quiet stretches.

Isn't more signals better? #

No. Every extra trade pays spread and slippage, and lower timeframes flip far more often with a thinner edge per trade. Vektor is built to compound over a year, not to hand you something to do today. The rarity is the point.

Which chart to use

The Setup row is the source of truth.

Each build declares the chart it is tuned for in the state table's Setup row, and shows a ⚠ warning whenever the loaded symbol or timeframe doesn't match.

Bitcoin #

Run the Bitcoin build on the daily (1D) chart. On an intraday chart the Setup row flags ⚠ USE 1D — the system under-sizes and under-performs there.

Gold #

The gold build reads the same daily-scale breakout but manages entries inside the trading session, so it runs on the chart named in its own Setup row. Load it, check the row, and keep the chart it asks for.

What if I ignore the warning? #

Nothing stops you, but you are no longer running the tested product: sizing, signal cadence, and the backtest you verified all assume the expected chart. If the signals don't look like what you expected, this is the first thing to check — see troubleshooting.

Changing timeframes

A different chart is a different product.

Can I run it faster to get more trades? #

You can, and it is usually a mistake. Dropping to a lower timeframe multiplies trade count while shrinking the edge per trade — more churn, more cost, more whipsaw. If you experiment anyway, treat it as a new system: verify it in the Strategy Tester over years of history, including a rough stretch, before risking anything.

The honest rule #

Whatever chart you choose, the behaviour you verified is the behaviour of that chart with those settings. Change either, and re-verify before you trust it. The same rule drives the settings page.
